Living abroad can be an incredible experience — and an unexpectedly hard one
Living abroad can be an incredible experience, but it can also bring unexpected emotional challenges. Many internationals navigate loneliness, relationship changes, identity shifts or major transitions far away from their familiar support systems.
If you are going through a difficult moment in your life abroad, you don't have to face it alone.
People often reach out when they are…
• Feeling lonely or disconnected while living abroad
• Navigating a divorce or relationship change
• Struggling with grief or emotional loss
• Feeling overwhelmed by life transitions
• Questioning your direction or identity abroad
• Emotionally exhausted or burnt out
• Searching for deeper clarity about your life

About your Therapist
Hello, I’m Issa
I have over ten years of experience supporting people through emotional challenges, grief, life transitions, burnout and personal transformation.
Born in Venezuela and raised between Mexico and Venezuela, I have lived in more than seven countries and travelled to over twenty-five — so I understand, from the inside, how deeply international living can shape a person's emotional world.
I studied Counselling Psychology at the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP), specialised through Lifeline South Africa, and completed additional training in grief, loss and bereavement through Hospice. I have also authored five books on emotional healing, forgiveness and resilience.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach combines counselling psychology with a holistic understanding of human experience.
I integrate evidence-informed therapeutic methods with deep listening, emotional awareness and a compassionate approach that honours each person's unique story.
With experience supporting people through grief, relationships, forgiveness, identity shifts, life transitions and emotional healing, I believe therapy is not only about reducing suffering, it is also about reconnecting with your strengths, values and sense of purpose.
